The foundation stone was laid on Friday 11th May for the first ever baseball stadium of South Asia
which is proposed to be built in Mahinda Rajapakse International Sports Complex. Special representatives of the Japanese government who provides the funds for this project ,
the president and the officials of the Mahinda Rajapakse Sports Development Foundation
attended the function. We (Baseball Confab) are extremely grateful to Japan who is always
willing to lend a hand for the development of Baseball in Sri Lanka
